One reality show that John and I have enjoyed watching is Alaska State Troopers. Alaska State Troopers is an American documentary television series that aired on the National Geographic Channel. The show followed the daily beats of various bureaus within the Alaska State Troopers. In addition, the show featured segments that followed village public safety officers from small rural villages as well as officers from other cities such as Wasilla, Palmer, Anchorage, and Soldotna.
The show followed the exploits of a number of officers from all regions of the state. One of the troopers who was seen on the show was Howie Peterson.
One evening, John and I were doing our campground duties, just walking around making sure everything was alright. John decided to go down to the Moose River and tidy it up, and when I say tidy, I mean rake fish carcasses up! It was starting to stink! While John was raking I was talking to Howie, unknown to me, who he was. We were talking about his birddog which he was walking and we also talked about the fishing. I went back to the camper and John arrived shortly after. Apparently, while Howie was fishing, John walked down there to talk to him. John thought he knew who he was, but he wanted to make sure. John asked him his profession and that's how he found out. When John got back to the camper he asked me if I knew who that was. Of course, I didn't. He then told me.
Exciting story, huh? It is what it is.
I guess it would be more exciting if a high speed chase was involved or we helped him apprehend a fugitive, but then again, that would be false and too much like reality tv.
